Buy One, Get One Cruise Free

We’ve all heard the advertisements for restaurants, shoes and such; buy one product from a particular company and you’ll receive a second product for free. It is certainly a great way to get the most bang from your hard earned buck. But recently the popular phrase, BOGO, was utilized for a cruise; truly an innovative advertising idea.

The company that initiated the offer was Adventure Smith Explorations; a wholesale cruise company that focuses on the lucrative market of small ship adventures. The company specializes in matching passengers to adventurous small ship cruises of their choosing, complete with expert guides who can make the situation more interesting and informative.

The latest venture of Adventure Smith Explorations was directed toward cruises to the Antarctica. Many people are hindered from booking a cruise to the Antarctica in these financially stricken times, with costs beginning at a figure over $13,000 per person. The buy one, get one free deal offered by Adventure Smith was certainly not one that would entice a person who had not previously considered an Antarctica cruise, but for anyone who was planning to experience this destination anyway definitely had the opportunity to cash in.

The cruise to Antarctica, on board the 114 passenger ship, Corinthian II, had to be booked by July 31, 2009 in order to be eligible for a free cruise. Booking this 17 night cruise through Adventure Smith Explorations entitled the passenger to receive a four night Alaskan cruise to either Glacier Bay or Prince William Sound on one of three dates in 2010. The value of the free cruise was estimated to be around $2,499; certainly a perk worth taking advantage of for those planning an Antarctica cruise.

Not able to take another cruise in 2010? The free cruise would make a family member very happy with the fully transferable Alaskan adventure. Remember to keep in mind that transportation to Alaska and any other additional expenses would be extra.

Receiving a free cruise may not be a way to interest many people in a cruise, but could very well entice passengers who are already planning a cruise anyway. After all, who doesn’t like getting something so good for free?
