What is the best cruise to go on?

I’ve never gone on a cruise before. My husband and I have decided we’re finally going to treat ourselves to what we feel is an all-inclusive, relaxing vacation on a cruise ship, but now have to choose which one to go on! I’ve looked online, but there is so much information it’s hard to sort out what you like and don’t like. I have to admit I don’t know where to begin. There are several good, reputable cruise lines, and each cruise line has several different ships going to different locations. Can anyone tell me what is the best cruise to go on?

Are vacationers willing to pay increased cost for safer fuel?

Ships uses bunker fuel to operate because it is the cheapest fuel and the dirtiest. Environmentalist are pressing for ships to change the type of fuel being used as it damages our environment and our health.

If cruise ships are to change the type of fuel they are using, are you willing to pay the increased cost? How much are your willing to spend to save our environment?

Travel Partners

My brother is considering getting a travel agent license, and wants to look into travel partnerships with cruise lines. I thought maybe another member here might know something about the subject; maybe you’ve worked through a travel partner to book a cruise. Does anyone have any ideas on how to become a travel partner with Carnival Cruise, for example? Carnival seems to be a widely used cruise line, so it seems as though there would be plenty of opportunities to get leads through them as a travel partner. Questions he has are 1) is there a cost to be a partner?

Cruise package

Is it possible to get an entire vacation package, including a cruise? It sure would take a lot of the work and planning out of a vacation. You know what I mean, like a Mediterranean cruise for example, with planned places to visit and tour. Overnight or weekend stays, using hotels in interesting or historic cities, and travel arranged from tourist point to tourist point. I would love to have such a trip, but frankly, I don’t have either the time or the knowledge to plan it out. That is my idea of a perfect vacation, a cruise package/travel vacation.

airport to cruise port travel

I'm going to be booking my first cruise, and the cruise ship leaves out of Galveston TX. I live on the east coast, and will be flying in to Galveston, TX. My question is: how do I get from the airport to the cruise ship with my luggage? Is there some sort of airport to cruise port travel, like a shuttle, similar to hotels where a shuttle picks you up from the airport and takes you directly to the airport? If so, do I have to arrange it by calling someone when I arrive? I'm just trying to get my ducks in order, so to speak.

U.S. Government to start Fingerprinting Foreign Travelers

The U.S. government is considering plans to start fingerprinting foreign travelers. This will include cruisers as they leave the USA.
Homeland Security Department, would require cruise lines to collect fingerprints from passengers as they board ships in Miami and other U.S. ports. Airlines would have to collect fingerprints at airports. Only foreigners would be fingerprinted, not U.S. citizens. We may expect delays for everyone at cruise ship terminals, when this requirement comes into effect.
