airport to cruise port travel

I'm going to be booking my first cruise, and the cruise ship leaves out of Galveston TX. I live on the east coast, and will be flying in to Galveston, TX. My question is: how do I get from the airport to the cruise ship with my luggage? Is there some sort of airport to cruise port travel, like a shuttle, similar to hotels where a shuttle picks you up from the airport and takes you directly to the airport? If so, do I have to arrange it by calling someone when I arrive? I'm just trying to get my ducks in order, so to speak.

Airport to cruiseline port travel

Desiree, for your peace of mind and so you don't feel rushed, you will want to arrive at the city of your embarkation port a day earlier. When you choose your hotel, just be sure to let them know you are taking a cruise. For port cities, they are used to this situation, and have taken steps to help you out with getting to port. The hotels will provide a shuttle to the airport, and also to the cruise line port. Then, when you return, you should plan to stay a night again before leaving for home, and use the hotel shuttle again. There are also special transport companies that will pick you up, but you do have to find them yourself and book it. Personally, I think it's easiest to let the hotel do all of the planning and scheduling.
