Princess versus Celebrity?

Princess versus Celebrity, What are the pros and cons, which would you recommend? I am a young male age 32 . I am planning to go on my first cruise vacation with my newly wedded wife.
We do not have any kids and have been to some all-inclusive resorts. I have heard about so many cruise lines and seem to be leaning towards Princess or Celebrity. Can you help me with our final choice?

When do I put on a tuxedo on a cruise?

While this might be a strange question, here it goes anyway: when do I put on a tuxedo on a cruise? Do I even need one? My wife seems to think we’ll have a dinner where everyone dresses up in the very finest fashions (maybe she just wants to buy a new dress!), and says I’m going to need to rent a tux since I don’t own one. We’ve been on a cruise before, but I sure don’t remember wearing a tux! Is there a fancy dinner or get together where everyone gets dressed up in tuxes and evening gowns?

What are the best cruises for families

My wife and I went on a cruise for our honeymoon years ago and had a terrific time. We’re planning a vacation and were thinking about another cruise, but this time we have two kids to add. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best cruises for families? I'd like to find a cruise ship that will have lots of things for young kids to do, but also offer plenty of activities for my wife and me. Will I feel as if I need to be with the kids every minute, or are there supervised kids events where they will be safe as my wife and I enjoy the more adult activities?

Do you have to do formal meals on cruise ships?

Okay, I have a question most of you repeat cruisers can help me with: do you have to do formal meals on cruise ships? You know, getting all dressed up in formal clothes and sitting at assigned tables?

What to do onboard a Cruise?

I’m planning my first cruise, and will be on board the ship for 6 nights, 7 days. At first, it seemed like a great idea to just kick back and relax. Now it’s sounding like a long time to just hang out. I’m curious to find out from anyone who has been on a cruise what to do onboard a cruise. I know there are endless eating opportunities, but I can’t eat all the time! And I’m not a big one for nightclubs and dancing; I’ve heard that’s a big thing on cruise ships. Am I going to get bored?

Cruise groups / vacation travel groups

My office has asked for input from us employees on a group activity for next year. We’ve already done picnics, catered dinner dances and the like, so we’re looking for something different. I was thinking of a group cruise that could be organized through a vacation travel group. I’m not sure where to start looking to get costs, information on booking, what is required for a group, or possible destinations. Would there be lower costs since a group is traveling?

Cruise ship employment

I am an aspiring comedian. I have done comedy clubs in my local area, and I think I’m pretty good. At least, I’ve never been booed off the stage!! I was thinking it would be really cool to have a gig on a cruise ship!! Not only would it be a great job with a captive audience, but I’d get the chance to travel and see places. I’m guessing I wouldn’t have to pay for the cruise, since I’d be an employee, right? I want to travel, so cruise ship employment would be ideal. But how to go about it? Anyone have any input?

Christian Cruise

Has anyone ever heard of a Christian cruise? I have heard of singles cruises and weight loss cruises and such. I don’t know how to find a Christian travel cruise, but I figure there must be such a thing, and I’d really like to learn more about them. Going on a cruise with people of like mind in Christianity would be a rewarding trip, and I feel it would be more enjoyable. Maybe church groups that plan events like that, not necessarily just one faith, either. Does anyone know how I might find information on a cruise that offers Christian travel?

Looking for a companion

It’s a little embarrassing to ask this question, but here goes nothing. How does someone go about looking for a female travel companion for a cruise? I’m a single guy, and want to take a cruise. Unfortunately, with my work schedule, its hard to meet women. Its definitely more fun to share an experience like a cruise, so I’d like to find someone that shares my interests and would enjoy the cruise. I don’t do the singles scene, like bars and stuff, so I’m not sure where to look to find a cruise companion. Anyone have any suggestions for me?

gifts for cruise travel

My parents are taking a cruise early this fall to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. I'd like to get them a really nice gift that they can use for the cruise. Can anyone suggest any gifts for cruise travel that would be appropriate and useful for their trip? Their cruise will be a Hawaiian cruise, so I know the weather will be nice and warm. Do you know if its possible to give gift certificates for restaurants or stores on one of the islands? I've never been on a cruise myself, so I'm at a loss to know what someone needs.
