Taking my grandson on a cruise

My grandson will turn 5 this year, and I would really like to do something special for him. I thought about taking him on a cruise, but it seems so expensive. One of my co-workers told me to check into deals where kids cruise either free or at big discounts with at least one adult. Has anyone heard of deals where kids travel free on cruises, and has anyone taken such a cruise? If there really are such deals, then are there certain ages that travel free? I'd really like to hear what the options would be for destinations, too.

Kids cruise free

Although I haven't taken one, several cruise lines do offer "kids cruise free" deals when they are accompanied by 2 adults. There are age restrictions, though, that vary from cruise line to cruise line; some are for all ages, like Regent's special promotion for an Alaska cruise, while others are for kids under 12, and yet others may be for kids under 3. Destinations can range from the Bahamas to Alaska to Europe, depending on your budget and time constraints. There are also big discounts for including children in travel that varies from line to line, so make sure you check each cruise out carefully. Even Disney offers discounts. I'm sure you'll have a great time when you book it.
