What are the best cruises for families

My wife and I went on a cruise for our honeymoon years ago and had a terrific time. We’re planning a vacation and were thinking about another cruise, but this time we have two kids to add. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best cruises for families? I'd like to find a cruise ship that will have lots of things for young kids to do, but also offer plenty of activities for my wife and me. Will I feel as if I need to be with the kids every minute, or are there supervised kids events where they will be safe as my wife and I enjoy the more adult activities?

Best cruises for families

Cruises are becoming more and more family friendly all the time, I’ve noticed. A lot of people enjoy including their kids when taking a cruise vacation, so the cruise lines are responding by offering a variety of activities for each. Almost every cruise line has a “kid program” of some type, with trained and experienced staff members to supervise and direct the activities. Kids can have fun, educational, social and physical activities. Disney, of course, is known to be kid friendly, but Carnival, Celebrity, Crystal and Norwegian are also known for their programs for young kids and teens. While the kids are busy with their activities, Mom and Dad can be lounging at the pool, shopping onboard, at the casino, whatever their hearts desire! Many parents come on board equipped with walkie talkies or Nextels so they can communicate with their kids at all times and check on them. The main thing is for you to check with the cruise lines you are considering, and check on their kid policies and programs ahead of time. That way, you’ll be able to choose which one fits your family’s needs best. Good luck!
