I’m planning my first cruise, and will be on board the ship for 6 nights, 7 days. At first, it seemed like a great idea to just kick back and relax. Now it’s sounding like a long time to just hang out. I’m curious to find out from anyone who has been on a cruise what to do onboard a cruise. I know there are endless eating opportunities, but I can’t eat all the time! And I’m not a big one for nightclubs and dancing; I’ve heard that’s a big thing on cruise ships. Am I going to get bored?

What to do onboard a cruise
Don’t worry; there are lots of things for you to do on your cruise! Even after the eating, and not counting the dancing! There will be shore excursions, but many people stay on board because they enjoy the activities so much. The first thing you’ll want to do is check the schedule of events for the cruise you are booked with to see what they have planned for you. On my last cruise with Carnival, I had the chance to gamble in the onboard casino, with table games and slot machines, participate in their version of a television reality show, and watched a comedy show where I laughed so hard it almost hurt! And who doesn’t enjoy lounging at the pool? There’s more; shopping, spas and exercise rooms on board, and then if you do want to go ashore, there’s exploring to do, beaches to see and local flavor to experience! Bored? I don’t think so! The main thing is to check the schedule of events the cruise ship gives you, and look it over to decide what you want to do. Then just have fun!
