Cruise in Bad Weather

I read the post by Jim B about bad weather, and I’ve been thinking along the same lines. What does happen if you are on the cruise ship and a tropical storm or hurricane is in the direct path of where the ship is? Or if the storm is headed for one of the same ports that your cruise ship is? I know that the ship gets re-directed, but what if there is nowhere to go? After all, a lot of destinations are islands; it’s not like there’s a lot of choice! What happens if you are on a cruise in bad weather?

Eco Friendly Cruises

I’m back on the environment subject again; as you can tell it’s one of my family’s favorite causes! Anyway, we like to go on cruises, but it’s a guilty pleasure for us, knowing that cruise ships rate right up there among the big polluters. Now, I know I’ve asked already about environmentally friendly cruises, but how about eco friendly cruises? Not just saving energy, but actually saving the ecosystem by not polluting? Does anyone have information about eco friendly cruises and what steps they take to save our ecology?

Environmental Friendly cruises

Lately it seems as though a great emphasis has been placed on “green” alternatives. My kids are learning all about it in school even. Now that we are planning a family cruise, the kids have been looking into environmental friendly cruises. What things should I look for to make sure a cruise line offers environmental friendly cruises? Will it be more expensive? I’m wondering what changes the cruise line may have made to be eco-friendly; will there be less hot water or a “lights out” policy at a particular time or something that makes the cruise less fun for the passengers?
