Group travel on cruise vacation

Has anyone ever gone on a group cruise? I’ve heard that when a large group travel on cruise vacation that the cost is cheaper; is that true? If it is, it might not be a bad idea to have a family reunion, wedding, anniversary party or just a great big family vacation that way! I’d be interested to know how many have to be in a group to get a reduced cost. Do all of the family members get rooms next to each other; like an entire corridor or something? When going ashore at ports, do the family members of the large group get their own guide for excursions? Its an interesting idea!

Group Travel

I haven’t gone on a group cruise, but the company that a friend of mine works for does that each year they have a huge profit and everyone that has gone has been very happy with the cruise. Of course, the cruise they go on is only for a few days, but the concept is still the same. I would recommend checking with a travel specialist, who would know which cruise lines offer discounts. There are some that give one free passage for every so many paid ones, so if the family divided up the savings, everyone would win. You don’t have to be all together, either; everyone can choose the kind of room they want, and double up in larger staterooms to save money. You wouldn’t have to be around each other all of the time, either, since everyone has different interests and there is so much to do onboard. For excursions, you can plan your own group excursion, but remember that the ship leaves on time ALWAYS, so be sure that your guide will have you back on time.
