How about weddings on a cruise? Has anybody had their important day take place on a wedding cruise, or seen anyone getting married on the cruise ship? I’m getting married, and am looking for something different than the traditional without going way out crazy.
I was thinking a cruise would offer anyone the opportunity to join us, but we would still feel as though we were alone on our honeymoon since a cruise ship is so huge. And what more perfect location to get married than under a sunny blue sky, surrounded by a magnificent blue ocean?! Does anyone have any comments on this?

Congratulations, Sarah!! Major cruise lines offer beautiful weddings on the ship, allowing the couple to be married by the captain of the ship at a particular port. Weddings are not able to be performed at sea, but it really works out to the couple’s favor while at port. For the wedding itself, guests are allowed to board the ship without being paying guests (although the newlyweds must be registered passengers) to take part in the wedding, but leaving the bride and groom to their privacy while on the cruise itself. Many amenities are included, like wedding cake, champagne toasts, along with other details, making the wedding a very memorable event for everyone. Some even include items such as complimentary massages and breakfast in bed!! There are packages for wedding and honeymoon; you may want to research that idea a bit further as well.
