Another cruise I think would be not only interesting but an experience in a totally different culture is a trip to Rio De Janiero in Brazil. Has anyone on this forum done cruise travel to South America at all? I’d love to hear about your experiences, where you went, what you needed for papers and such before you left, which cruise line you went on, and so on and so forth. Are there any restrictions I need to know about? I heard the seasons are reversed in South America from here in the US; is that true? Any information you have would be great!!
South American cruise
South America is beautiful, LoRhonda, and such an interesting area to visit by cruise. My parents went, and had a really wonderful time using Carnival Cruise Lines. Lots of cruise lines offer cruises to differen ports of call in South America, so just check them out and choose the one you like best. You are right; the seasons in South America are opposite those here in the United States, but there are cruises all year long. You do need to have a passport, and I suggest making photocopies of it to carry with you JUST IN CASE. Proof of citizenship is a BIG deal with cruise lines. You also need to have a Visa to enter Brazil. It can take up to a week to obtain it from the Embassy, but it stays in force for up to 5 years.
