Cruising during hurricane season

If you are planning to go on a cruise during this hurricane season, check the weather update at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and your cruise line web page.  They normally have a 'latest update' icon to tell you about changes in itineary because of the storm or any other news.  Cruise ships are equipped with information systems so they are able to avoid storms.

If you have not already booked a flight, leave a day or two allowance before your boarding time and also after your return just in case your cruise is delayed.

Buy travel insurance preferably from a travel insurance company.  Pick out a few and check their ratings on AM Best.  Travel Insurance covers in case of interruptions or cancellations during your trip.  It also covers a lot more.
