Cruising in September

Lately, I’ve noticed a lot of advertisements for cruise travel that seem to be really good deals. I’m sure some of the enticements are due to the nation’s economic situation, but also I’ve noticed that a lot of the dates for which the sale prices are effective seem to be late September and early October. Can anyone tell me: is late September a good travel month for a cruise? Some areas have alternate seasons from the United States, and I know weather changes continuously, but I just wonder why that particular time frame is being featured. Does anyone have any information?

September cruises

You don’t mention the area which you plan to cruise, which would make a huge difference on the answer to your question. Remember, for example, that seasons are reversed in South America. Typically, though, cruising in September has its pros and cons. Prices are generally a little cheaper then, and since kids have gone back to school, there will be fewer children and more adults on the cruise. For some, this is an added bonus. If you are traveling in the Caribbean, you should be aware that it is hurricane season, which probably accounts for the good rates you will see. You may be lucky; it may be a light hurricane season. If you are willing to play the odds, you can realize some really good savings when cruising in September. If you decide to go, check the average weather for the cruise route you choose. Then you will have a better idea of what to expect.
