Requirements for Proof of Citizenship

With all of the new policies on passports for travel, I know proof of citizenship is important. Since passports are not yet required since they keep postponing the active date, what type of citizenship requirements are required for cruise travel to Mexico right now? I have a chance to go on a cruise with a friend who already has the trip booked; I just need to find out what type of citizenship proof I need to have so I can be ready. I’m hoping one of you other members may have already had this question and researched it and has found the answer!!

Proof of Citizenship

I've been doing a lot of research on this lately. The proof of citizenship requirement is in force for the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Mexican cruises, and they are extremely diligent in enforcing it. One of the following would be acceptable:

**a valid US passport
**Original birth certificate AND photo ID issued by the State

I'm assuming you are of US citizenship. If not, then you would need:
**Original certificate of Naturalization AND state issued photo ID
**Original certificate of Citizenship AND state issued photo ID
**Original Consular Report of Birth AND state issued photo ID

Whichever of the above proofs you use, it must be the ORIGINAL, not a copy.
