Dubai; New Homeport of Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance of the Seas

Along a stretch of the Persian Gulf coast lays the beautiful city of Dubai; a rich regional mix of history, burgeoning real estate, exciting nightlife, and white sandy deserts and now, the homeport for the Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance of the Seas.

The inaugural season of Royal Caribbean’s vessel will begin in January of 2010 at its new homeport of Dubai, and booking for all of the 13 different sailings is already in progress. With seven nights devoted to the itinerary, there will be plenty of exploration opportunities for the intriguing areas of Dubai, Oman, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi. From January through April, passengers will have the chance to fully experience these interesting areas on board the Brilliance of the Seas.

As if that itinerary were not stimulating enough, travelers also have the choice of booking on two equally exciting repositioning cruises, departing from Barcelona and visiting the Jordon port of Aqaba as well as three Egyptian ports on 14-day sailings.

Dubai is one of seven of the United Arab Emirates, and the most heavily populated. During January and April, which is the timeframe the Brilliance of the Seas will visit the area, temperatures in Dubai range between 95-106°, perfect for discovering the intricacies of the port cities which contain deserts and salt-crusted plains, and for sampling ethnic foods with the inflection of Arab, Chinese and Asian flavors.

While on-board, passengers will find themselves enjoying activities such as mini-golf, waterslide or just relaxing by the pool. As they approach the appointed ports of call, passengers will thrill at the Brilliance’s glass elevators; facing outward toward the ocean, they provide passengers with breathtaking glimpses of the coastline that soon will be available for exploring.

Adding new, exciting destinations to existing itineraries is what keeps the cruise industry stimulating and refreshing. Royal Caribbean confirms why they remain on top of the industry with their latest addition of Dubai, the new homeport of their Brilliance of the Seas.
