The Cruise Line International Association (CLIA) conducted a poll with families as their target market to determine trend that family vacations were following. Almost half of those polled indicated that they were considering a cruise for a family vacation. The fact that 2/3 of those families include children under the age of 18 is a revealing one; showing the importance of family in our culture as well as the increased availability of cruise vacations to these families.

Vacations are important to families, but so are finances. The CLIA poll showed that a whopping 83% of respondents felt that the costs invested in a cruise vacation were dollars well spent. Practically an “all-inclusive” opportunity, a cruise includes accommodations, great destinations, food, drink, entertainment and age-appropriate activities. Parents view this all in one package to provide more bang for the buck that they worked so hard to set aside for their family enjoyment; enhancing even more the popularity of a family cruise vacation.

Another reason that parents consider cruise vacations is the varied activities that different members of the family have available to keep them stimulated. Kids Clubs, teen activities and adult attractions hold high appeal when they are offered in one vacation, providing interest and fun for each member of the family in one package deal. While families who are considering a cruise vacation need to research their cruise options to determine which would be the best fit for their particular situations, cruise lines have expanded their offerings to such a point that there truly is a cruise for everyone.
