Kids Featured in the Latest ‘Hood of Oasis of the Seas

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood for Royal Caribbean, who recently announced the Youth Zone as the final ‘Hood on board one of the most unique cruise ships ever launched. The Oasis of the Seas, with a scheduled debut date of November, 2009, will feature seven neighborhoods designed to provide the best cruise experience for passengers, with the Youth Zone as the final addition.

Cruise lines are responding to the increasing number of families that show interest in making a cruise their family vacation by adding to the variety of activities youth-focused interests. On Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas, the Youth Zone will be the most expansive journey to the goal to date. Building on the Adventure Ocean theme, an award winning venture for Royal Caribbean, the Youth Zone will feature a specific dedication to the interests of children as young as 6 months right on up to teens.

Royal Babies and Tots is a much anticipated addition to Royal’s Oasis of the Seas. Highly trained professionals will provide child care services for parents during the day or night, allowing parents some worry-free adult time. Play groups, created by Crayola and Fisher Price will stimulate little ones under the guidance of counselors.

Young children will be entertained in areas such as the Kid’s Arcade, the Workshop, Imagination Studio, Adventure Science Lab, Play and Adventure Ocean Theatre; all designed with state of the art equipment to provide the most enhanced learning and fun experiences to kids.

Teen only spaces have long been part of Royal Caribbean cruise offerings. Oasis of the Seas takes that popular theme a bit further with The Living Room, a hang-out room complete with a “mock-tail bar” sure to please the teen set. Action packed activities such as surf simulators, mini-golf, Oasis Dunes, dances and sports such as basketball and volleyball will thrill the 12-17 year old age group.

The Youth Zone joins six other neighborhoods previously unveiled by Royal Caribbean, all designed to provide the utmost of entertainment for passengers on board the Oasis of the Seas. Truly an innovative concept in cruising, the Oasis of the Seas will be an experience for anyone sailing on the largest vessel in the cruise industry.
