Social networking is the hottest trend of the world. Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites are providing a link between anyone who is part of the groups and the rest of the world. Thanks to Carnival Cruise Lines, this communication fast track is now being extended to include a cruise network.
The newest ship to join the Carnival Cruise Line fleet, the Carnival Dream, is scheduled to make its debut on September 21st, 2009. Making the appearance of this largest ship of any in the Carnival corral even more exciting is what it brings with it: its own social networking intranet portal to be called the FunHub. Free access to this portal will be afforded to anyone who brings their own laptop along, or for anyone who wishes to rent a 10 inch netbook.
Since the social network will allow guests to meet and interact with anyone else on board, it will be a comfortable and familiar transition for any guest who currently participates in a networking site. Creating a personal profile will be the first step to getting started on this portal that has the capability of forming forums that are either public or private, as well as to send and receive messages. Since access is possible anywhere on the cruise ship, guests can socialize from the privacy of their own stateroom, at poolside, at the bar or anywhere they wish.
While the social network is a great complimentary feature, passengers are also able to access internet sites outside of the FunHub. Bringing this convenience free of charge to guests is great value, and the fact that cell phone service is also available is icing on the cake. A sneak peak at this innovative service is available at www.carnival.com/dream.
The debut of the Carnival Dream will be an exciting trip to the Grand Mediterranean; three 12 day cruises departing from Rome to be followed by a trans-Atlantic voyage filled with 16 days of fun and excitement. She will also be a repositioning ship; traveling to the Bahamas from New York and finally to what will be her port home, Port Canaveral in Florida.
Social networking is just as important when on vacation as it is in daily life. Carnival Cruises brings that possibility to its guests starting in September.
