Lake Michigan Getaway

A little known, yet perfect getaway are the Great Lakes that surround Michigan. In particular, a Lake Michigan getaway, which is operated by the Great Lakes Cruising Company, is an inland cruise to be strongly considered.

On board one of the exclusive 100 passenger cruise ships, an itinerary of 6 nights on the beautiful waters of Lake Michigan will include port calls in Holland, MI, Manistee MI, the one of a kind Mackinaw Island, Door County, Wisconsin and Milwaukee, WI. Each of these stops, which encompass 3 separate states, will offer opportunities to explore the lovely countryside and the unique characteristics that make each a popular destination for travel.

The cruises are offered throughout the summer. Prices for the cruise include 6 night accommodations, meals, snacks and soft drinks. Alcoholic beverages are not provided on the cruise, but passengers are encouraged to “BYOB”, with refrigerators, ice and mixers provided on board for the convenience of the traveler. This opportunity allows the passengers to ensure their favorite drinks will be available to them, while also greatly reducing the costs generally associated with imbibing on cruise ships.

The ships themselves are comfortable and inviting. The smaller capacity leads to a more intimate setting, with greater crew interaction. Dining on the cruise ships are a gastronomic delight, and passengers with dietary restrictions are encouraged to advise the chef. The atmosphere on board is casual and laid back; providing a relaxing experience. The smaller size enables the cruise ship to enter small, quiet ports; however, docking is not necessary to disembark for shore excursions. Each one of the ships features two launches, one of which is glass bottomed, that can be boarded from the stern.
